(“Adjacent”) considers the privacy and security of user information an important component of the services offered at its website, https://adjacentacademies.com/ (the “Site”). The following information explains how Adjacent collects and uses information obtained from users in connection with services available at the Site (taken together, the “Service”). By using or accessing the Site in any way, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent to our collection, use and sharing of your information in the manner described herein.
This Privacy Policy only covers our treatment of your personal information that we gather when you are accessing or using our Site, and does not apply to the practices of companies we don’t own or control, or people that we don’t manage.
Information Collected.
At your election, you may request additional information about Adjacent or apply for courses at Adjacent. When you do so, you may submit certain information or data to Adjacent, for example, your name, contact information, e-mail address, phone number, permanent address, demographics (e.g., gender), college or university name, expected graduation date, major, extracurricular activities, computer science experience, words to describe yourself, hobbies, interests, jobs, internships, difficult work experience, or approach to learning something new (collectively, “User Data”). By providing Adjacent with User Data via the Site, you expressly agree to its collection and use as described in this Privacy Policy.
When you visit the Site, web servers collect “traffic data” (such as, for example, time and date, the address of the website from which you entered the Site) about your visit, which is stored as anonymous, aggregate data. Collecting such data may entail the use of cookies, IP addresses or other numeric codes used to identify a computer, and other commonly used information-gathering tools.
A “cookie” is a small piece of data stored on a user’s browser, and contains non-personally identifiable information about the user. When you visit the Site, Adjacent may place a “cookie” in order to improve your experience by recognizing you when you visit the Site and in order to allow Adjacent to optimize the information presented based on your demonstrated areas of interest. Telephone Consumer Protection Act
By signing up for the Services and providing us with your wireless number, you confirm that you want Adjacent to send you information regarding your account or transactions with us that we think may be of interest to you, which may include Adjacent using automated dialing technology to text you at the wireless number you provided, and you agree to receive communications from Adjacent, and you represent and warrant that each person you register for the Services or for whom you provide a wireless phone number has consented to receive communications from Adjacent. You agree to indemnify and hold Adjacent harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages (actual and consequential), losses and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from or in any way related to your breach of the foregoing.
Information about Interest-Based Advertisements.
We may serve advertisements, and also allow third-party ad networks, including third-party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms, to serve advertisements through the Site. These advertisements may be targeted to users who fit certain general profile categories or display certain preferences or behaviors (“Interest-Based Ads”). Information for Internet-Based Ads (including personal data) may be provided to us by you, or derived from the usage patterns of particular users on the Site and/or services of third parties. Such information may be gathered through tracking users’ activities across time and unaffiliated properties, including when you leave the Site. To accomplish this, we or our service providers may deliver cookies, including a file (known as a “web beacon”) from an ad network to you through the Site. Web beacons allow ad networks to provide anonymized, aggregated auditing, research and reporting for us and for advertisers. Adjacent does not knowingly collect or maintain personally identifiable information from children under thirteen (13) years of age; IF YOU ARE UNDER THIRTEEN (13), PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SITE, USE THE SERVICE, OR OTHERWISE SEND US ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under thirteen (13), we will delete that information as quickly as possible. Use of Information.
Adjacent uses User Data to respond to your inquiries for additional information, and to consider you for available courses at Adjacent.
Adjacent uses “traffic data” to help diagnose problems with its server, analyze trends, and administer the Site. Your IP address is not linked to personally identifiable information, but may be used to help identify you and gather broad demographic data and to monitor statistics to improve the Site and Service. IP addresses may be also used to provide an audit trail in the case of any attempted illegal or unauthorized use of the Site.
Sharing of Information.
Adjacent may disclose personally identifiable data if (1) reasonably necessary to perform the Service, (2) authorized by you, (3) otherwise permitted under this Privacy Policy, or (4) Adjacent is required to do so by law or regulation, or in good faith believes that such action is necessary to (i) conform or comply with applicable laws, regulations or legal process, (ii) protect or defend the rights or property of Adjacent, any other user, or the public, (iii) prevent fraud, or (iv) protect Adjacent against abuse, misuse, or unauthorized use of Adjacent’s products or services.
Adjacent may transfer personally identifiable information to any successor to all or substantially all of its business or assets.
Security.
We endeavor to protect the privacy of your personal information that we hold in our records, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of user information at any time.
Third Party Sites.
The Site (including, without limitation, such features and services provided by Adjacent through the Site) may permit you to link to other websites on the Internet, and other websites may contain links to the Site. These other websites are not under Adjacent’s control. The privacy and security practices of websites linked to or from the Site are not covered by this Privacy Policy, and Adjacent is not responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content of such websites.

Changes.
Adjacent reserves the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting a notice at the Site. Information collected by the Service is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of use.

- Erasure: You may request that we delete the personally identifiable information that we have collected from you by emailing us at info@adjacentacademies.com. However, we may not be required to delete your personally identifiable information under certain circumstances, including if such data is necessary for us to provide you with the Services, if we use such data only for our internal analytical use, and if such data is needed to complete a transaction or other action you have requested. If you request that we delete your personally identifiable information, you may no longer be able to use the Services.
